BANKING AND FINANCE SUMMIT WHICH WILL BE HELD FOR THE FOURTH TIME THIS YEAR WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN NOVEMBER 15th-16th AT ISTANBUL MARAMARA HOTEL. IT IS WIDELY ANTICIPATED THAT THE MOST PROMINENT TOPIC OF THE SUMMIT WILL BE BANK PRIVATIZATIONS.

Banking, Finance and Investment Summit joined by, Central Bank Managers, and Ministers of Finance from Turkey, Caspian and BDT countries as well as international investors, will be held at İstanbul Marmara Hotel between November 15th and 16th. NEW BANK MERGERS...

The most important subject to be discussed during the summit will be bank mergers during EU accession period. Particularly the recent bank mergers that took place in Turkey are among the main topics of the conference. Mrs Günay Arslan, ITE Group PLC’s Turkey Office EUF’s project manager stated that, recent bank mergers became much more important especially during EU accession period of Turkey and that, bank mergers such as the one between Yapi Kredi and Kocbank, are closely monitored by delegations from Central Asia and Caspian Countries and Russia as well. Mrs. Arslan continued as follows : “While the share of foreign banks in the banking sector is 75% in Central and Eastern Europe, this ratio is less than 10% in Turkey. This makes Turkey quite attractive for foreign banks. This is also important with regard to foreign bank mergers and new investments to be made in Turkey".

The recent economic developments in Turkey, privatizations and dynamism in many sectors including the banking sector and investment opportunities in Turkey, brings Turkey to the forefront among the 20 participant companies.
