Why Turkey?
Turkey’s strategic location has made the country to a natural bridge between the main petrol manufacturers of Middle Asia and the Caspian Region and the consumer market of Europe. A number of factors have combined to make Turkey a vitally important country in the regional energy market.
Turkey has developed its geopolitical power with current and planned pipeline projects (Samsun-Ceyhan, Baku, Tiblisi-Ceyhan, Nabucco...)The Ceyhan port of Turkey has the position of an important departure gate for the export of Iraqi oils. The same applies for the probable future export of the oils of the Caspian region. The Bosporus which allows the transit from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean is a key-point on its own. And finally Turkey is a huge energy consumer, the energy requirement of which is growing rapidly.
